Blueprints

The first draft of the blueprints should be ready any day now I guess. I can't wait to see them. I'll post a picture when I have one. It's a fairly typical farm house with 2 stories, 2 porches, 4 bedrooms, a large family room and an open kitchen.

Snow Day???

Not much new to report today. It's Friday and we're expecting some snow. A snowy day trail ride would be nice. I might try to squeeze that in if it's not to windy. If not I guess we'll just look at our house plan books this weekend and keep waiting for spring!!

The Beginning

This is my horse, My Alli, running through our future back yard.
On Jan 20th we finally did it, we signed the papers on the farm! We have 50 acres to take care of. I still can't believe it. We've been visiting this farm, dreaming about it, talking about it, planning, saving, dreaming some more for so long now, and we did it, it's ours now.
Now we can get the ball rolling on the house, which is what this blog is really about. My family building a house out in the country, and trying not to kill each other in the process!! Wish us luck. It's not going to be easy, but we are prepared and I guess the best advice we've gotten is to try to be flexible. Any other good advice out there???
